Optimized Detection of Volatile Organic Compounds Utilizing Durable and Selective Arrays of Tailored UiO-66-X SURMOF Sensors
Summary
Arrays of QCM sensors coated with three variants of the UiO-66 metal-organic framework, modified after synthesis with NH2, Cl or N3 groups, act as an electronic nose for volatile organic compounds. The films, grown layer by layer, survive pH 2 to 11; with machine learning (LDA, k-NN, neural networks) the array told eight VOCs apart with nearly 100% accuracy at high concentration and over 95% at 50–100 ppm.
