Kinetics of viscoelasticity in the electric double layer following steps in the electrode potential studied by a fast electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance (EQCM)
Summary
A fast electrochemical QCM followed the electric double layer after steps in electrode potential. The overtones scale as in simple mass loading and the bandwidth changes little, but the size of the signal and its timing, matching the charging time from impedance spectroscopy, point to changes in the viscosity of the diffuse layer rather than adsorption.
