Detection of Pesticides in Complex Matrices Using QCM-Based Piezoelectric Immunosensors
Summary
QCM immunosensors for carbaryl, a hazardous pesticide still used in Mexico, were tested on drinking water, fruit juice and honey. A BSA–carbaryl conjugate was immobilised on an activated self-assembled monolayer for a competitive assay in a microfluidic setup; with dilutions of 1:4, 1:20 and 1:100 the frequency shifts matched those in buffer, pointing to quick pesticide checks in food.
