Selective Aptasensor for Trinitrotoluene Detection: Comparison of the Detecting Performances from Liquid and Vapor Phases
Summary
A peptide aptamer bound to the gold electrode of a QCM gives a selective sensor for the explosive TNT, first in water and then in the vapour phase. It separates TNT from the related compounds DNT and TNB, reaches a detection limit of about 0.024 nM with a linear response, and can be reused and stored without a marked loss of signal, pointing to portable on-site screening.
