Polyacrylamide coated on quartz crystal microbalance electrodes for highly sensitive sensor of acetic acid
Summary
QCM electrodes coated in three steps, a 1-dodecanethiol monolayer, glutaraldehyde and then polyacrylamide, were tested as acetic acid vapour sensors. The coating made the sensor largely insensitive to humidity, with a response time of about 96 s and a sensitivity near 12.9 Hz per mg/L; more selective polymers are suggested as the next step.
