Enhanced Ionic Liquids for Acidic Gases Solubility and Task Specific Ionic Liquid for SO₂ Absorption
Summary
Thesis on ionic liquids for capturing acidic gases. Blends of commercial ionic liquids with basic additives raised CO2, SO2 and NO2 uptake, and new task-specific ionic liquids were made for SO2; the best, HDBU-Triz, absorbed up to 0.375 g/g at 5% SO2 and 30 °C, with good selectivity over CO2 and little sensitivity to water.
