Block Copolymers-Based Nanoporous Thin Films with Tailored Morphology for Biomolecules Adsorption
Summary
Nanoporous thin films made from self-assembled lamellar block copolymers, with channels about 20 nm wide lined by polystyrene and pendant PEO chains, are tested for myoglobin adsorption by UV–vis spectroscopy, QCM and neutron reflectometry. They take up far more protein than flat polystyrene or glass, an effect the authors attribute to the pores’ surface area, open structure and trapping.
