Performance evaluation and DFT study of a room temperature methylamine gas sensor based on QCM with Fe3O4-PVAc nanofiber active layer
Summary
A room-temperature methylamine sensor: a QCM coated with electrospun polyvinyl acetate nanofibres and then with Fe3O4 nanoparticles. The iron oxide almost doubled the response (51.5 vs 29.5 Hz at 120 ppm), giving 0.442 Hz per ppm and a 9.2 ppm detection limit with faster recovery, and DFT calculations point to Fe–N bonding with the gas.
