An enhanced safrole sensing performance of a polyacrylonitrile nanofiber-based-QCM sensor by overlaying with chitosan
Summary
A QCM sensor for safrole, a drug precursor, made by electrospinning polyacrylonitrile nanofibres onto the crystal and drop-casting chitosan over them. The chitosan layer, whose amine groups interact with safrole, raised the sensitivity almost fivefold (18.7 versus 4.5 Hz·L/mg) and improved detection limit, response time and stability.
