Rapid SARS-CoV-2 Detection Using High-Sensitivity Thickness Shear Mode Sensors
Summary
A point-of-care test for COVID-19 in which a thickness shear mode (quartz) sensor with polyethylene glycol surface chemistry captures the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein. With heat-inactivated virus it reached about 0.256 Hz per TCID50/mL and a detection limit near 150 TCID50/mL; the functionalised surface was checked by holographic microscopy, SEM-EDX and Raman.
