Sensing performance and DFT investigation of methylamine gas detection using SnO₂-decorated PEO nanofiber-coated quartz crystal microbalance
Summary
Methylamine gas detection at room temperature with a QCM coated with electrospun polyethylene oxide nanofibres decorated with SnO2. The tin oxide raised the sensitivity to 0.323 Hz per ppm, with fast, repeatable responses and good selectivity over alcohols and aromatic solvents; density functional theory supports a Lewis acid–base sensing mechanism.
