Optical monitoring of drug release in hybrid patch based on polymer microneedles and porous silicon membrane
Summary
A drug-delivery patch that combines polymer microneedles with a porous silicon membrane acting both as reservoir and as optical monitor of the release. As a proof of concept the authors fabricate and characterise a patch loaded with fluorescein.
