Detection and confirmation of Salmonella Typhimurium by smartphone-enabled optomechanical platform
Summary
A smartphone-based QCM system for Salmonella Typhimurium that combines two readouts: the frequency drop from captured bacteria and the fluorescence of FITC-labelled antibodies bound to them. The labelled antibodies both enlarge the frequency shift and give visual confirmation; the phone shows frequency and temperature in real time and estimates concentration, detecting the pathogen at around 10⁵ CFU/mL.
