A polyaniline-enhanced quartz crystal microbalance sensor for room-temperature camphor detection
Summary
Polyaniline films cast on PVAc nanofibres make a QCM sensor for camphor vapour, needed in pharmaceutical production where only laboratory methods such as GC-MS exist. With 0.08% polyaniline the sensitivity rose to about 2.6 Hz/ppm from 0.3 Hz/ppm without it, with response and recovery times of 47 s and 133 s, good selectivity and stable behaviour over three weeks.
